Youth Police Academy

The Durant Police Department is excited to offer the Youth Police Academy — a three-day program for 14-17 year old students. Join us July 20–22, 2025 for an immersive experience in law enforcement.

Academy Dates: July 20, 21, and 22, 2025. Open to 14-17 year old students. Complete all required fields below to submit your application. A parent or guardian must authorize the waiver in Section 4.

4. Parent Authorization & Waiver

Liability Waiver: As the parent or legal guardian of the applicant, I hereby grant permission for my child to participate in the Durant Youth Police Academy, scheduled for July 20–22, 2025. I understand that participation involves activities that may carry inherent risks. I agree to hold harmless, release, and indemnify the City of Durant and the Durant Police Department, their officers, employees, agents, and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury that may be sustained by my child during or in connection with the academy.

Student Conduct: I acknowledge that my child is expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and responsible manner at all times during the academy. Failure to comply with academy rules and the direction of staff may result in dismissal from the program without refund of any fees.

I authorize my child's participation in the Durant Youth Police Academy. *(Optional) I authorize the Durant Police Department to use photographs or video of my child taken during the academy for department social media, press releases, and promotional materials.
